Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, India - 10 Marzo 2012 - Un momento di una cerimonia funebre induista dove per tradizione il corpo del defunto viene posto sulla pira (una struttura fatta di legno) e dato alle fiamme. Il corpo viene decorato con legno di sandalo e ghirlande di fiori. Il fuoco della cremazione permette ai cinque elementi che costituiscono l’anima di tornare alla loro fonte: aria, acqua, terra e fuoco al mondo terreno, l’etere al mondo superiore.

INDIA - A moment of Hindu ceremony in Vrindavan, location in Uttar Pradesh, India on March 10,2012 where traditionally the body of the deceased is placed on the pyre (a structure made of wood) and set on fire. The body is decorated with sandalwood and garlands of flowers. The fire of the cremation allows five elements that make up the soul to return to their source: air, water, earth and fire to the earthly world, the ether to the upper world.
